A musical get-together of family, friends and relationships and the laughter, sorrow and joy they bring. Bath Philharmonia performs a tasting menu of some of the most reflective orchestral music by British composers including excerpts from The Enigma Variations.
This concert features Steven Isserlis, one of the world’s greatest cellists, performing one of the most loved pieces of classical music, Elgar’s Cello Concerto. Written over one hundred years ago, Elgar pours his heart and soul into every note of this masterpiece of passion, intensity and heartache.
Connecting us through this programme are British composers Samuel Coleridge Taylor, Edward Elgar, Errollyn Wallen, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Grace Williams.
